Luke Morris Biography

Hailing from the small coastal town of Port Lincoln, South Australia, Indi/Folk songsmith Luke Morris journeyed to Byron Bay in 2012 to pursue a music career.
Luke Independently made his debut into the music industry with his nine-track album titled ‘Sugarcane Road’. The album had a much greater impact than Luke had anticipated. What began as performing to a small bunch of close friends and family soon turned into much more.
Luke hit the ground running releasing several EP’s and singles, followed by his sophomore album ‘Maybe We’re Just Running Home.’
He set forth to play national headline shows and supported artists such as The Rubens, Mia Dyson and Busby Marou and went on to rack up almost 80,000 monthly listeners and over 40,000 followers on Spotify with tracks featuring on major Spotify playlists and Triple J.

The Aussie singer then went to work releasing singles ‘King Of The Highway’, ‘Lay Everything On Me’ and ‘After All This Time’. In just over two months, his latest release ‘Lady Luck’ has scored almost 200k streams and counting!
"The artist’s soul-soothing soundtrack radiates a beautiful summer’s day, drenched in nostalgia with Bob Dylan sensibilities. Kick back, relax and escape to total tranquillity as Morris’ dulcet harmonies enchant you."

2022 saw Luke trading in his solo indie folk musings to form Aussicana outfit Luke Morris and the Heavy Hitters. Collaborating with four members from Ocean Alley being Nic Blom (bass), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lachy Galbraith (keyboards) and Tom O’Brien (drums) Nullarbor is the lead single from forthcoming album Long Desert Highways due out mid 2023.

Recorded in the Byron Hinterland at Rockinghorse Studios with gun producer Paul Pilseniks ( Dope Lemon / Living End / Silverchair / Angus and Julia Stone) the Heavy Hitters take you down a meandering journey of their very own unique brand of Aussicana sitting comfortably next to fellow compatriots Floodlights, The Slingers and Jack Davies and the Bush Chooks.

Luke Morris and The Heavy Hitters first single Nullarbor Song is out now featuring the dreamy tones of Darcy Dexter (Seaside). Grab your deck chair, put your feet on the esky with a cold one and immerse yourself in the 90’s desert sounds of an Australian sunburnt countryside of bushfire moons, blood orange skies and the quintessential cowgirl where one story ends and another begins.

Recently released is the second single from the album 'Somewhere on a beach' Feb 2023
