About Kelvin Jones
I began playing guitar about 4 years ago and at the time I was just discovering the music of John Mayer. From this, grew a love of older blues music dating back to the likes of Tracy Chapman and BB King. A couple of years later, I fell in love with song writing and the simplicity of being able to connect with someone through melody and emotion.
My love for blues is matched by my love of good quality pop music. I consider musicians like Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran very inspirational because they just write genuinely great music.
I love pop and blues so I find that often my challenge when writing is to try to bring those two together. I would describe my music as the fusion of those two passions.
Last Christmas, I wrote a song called Call You Home and uploaded it to YouTube. A couple of months later, bizarrely, the song was on the front page of a website called Reddit and also featured in a segment on Good Morning America.
Upon telling my mum that I was going viral, she asked me if I needed penicillin!
