Babyboom

Babyboom are the acoustic sideproject of Sonic Boom six, with additional organ and trumpet players. They play a blend of acoustic, ska, folk and reggae. As opose to Sonic Boom the prodominant song writer of the band is guitarist Ben with the lyrical content being less overtly political. Two Babyboom tracks feature on the Sonic Boom Six compilation; 'Champion Edition'on Moon Ska Europe, however a four song EP has also been released independantly by the band. Matthew Reyonlds of Howards Alias and Thinkpol features on half of these tracks. Babyboom is a turn away from Sonic Boom's aggresive sound however still carries many of the hallmarks of the band, such as Laila's sqeaky vocals and Barney's distinctive MC style. The majority of the Vocals are done by Ben who comes into his own with a more layed back feel of the music. Babyboom are a chilled out yet engaging outfit and represent the talent the boom collective as musicians.
