THE ACID ATTACK STORY
as told by jacko:

acid attack originally started as an idea in late 1980. like just about everybody else at the time i wanted to be in a band. i mentioned it to a mate called "lemon" at fratton park during yet another classic third division match against barnsley ... or someone. he had a guitar so we said we'd sort something out. as it turned out we still went home and away to see pompey but the band idea went quiet.
the first actual attempt at making a racket was with a mate called jim thornton. he thudded away on his drum kit and i thudded away on guitar and shouted the obligatory unintelligible racket over the top of it. we recorded 3 songs and settled on the name acid attack. unfortunately the name suggested an involvement with drugs to many people although that was not the case. the name was just 2 words which seemed to go well together. "acid" meaning corrosive or eating away ......... and "attack" was just about assaulting your eardrums. anyway, it sounded fair enough so we kept it. however ..... much to my astoundment the 3 tracks sounded nothing like the dead boys or slaughter and the dogs so a guitarist would come in handy!

To be continued .....
