Ship of Fools Biography

Ship of Fools was birthed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, although the group consists of musicians with origins of Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and even as far as Venezuela. Their music is an amalgamation of these origins in that it combines classically influenced melody and composition, on top of finger-picked, folk-inspired, acoustic guitar, to illustrate a uniqueness of style that is hard to pin to just one genre or label. Palacios' cello takes a lead melodic role that engages in skillful interplay with Blount's finger-style guitar, Browns' intricate, jazz-studied percussion technique, and Monaghan's powerful, controlled, vocal styling, to dynamically tie each musicality together as one unit.
