About this concert
A double bill of traditional music from East Anglia, featuring Georgia Shackleton and Adam Clark. Georgia works with fiddle, voice, tenor guitar and drones to create crisp arrangements of old songs, and new compositions. Georgia is a critically acclaimed song writer, with self penned songs and traditional re-workings achieving national radio play on BBC radio 2, BBC radio 4, and a BBC 3 live session. Georgia takes great influence from the traditional singers of the East of England such as Harry Cox, Walter Pardon and Phoebe Smith. Traditional material she performs often stems from her native East Anglia and her own compositions are often inspired by stories from the region and the areas unique, compelling landscape. Her debut solo album, ?Harry?s Seagull? is a celebration of East Anglian traditional music. The album is named after a tune she wrote and dedicated to Harry Cox, after the touching discovery that he kept a wounded seagull as a pet for a period of time. "Harry's Seagull shows just how invigorating traditional music can be and how old songs sung with affection can sparkle like new. One of the freshest and most appealing folk albums of the year" - Folk Radio UK "It could be the best thing she's done in her career thus far" ****- RnR magazine Adam Clark plays traditional music with guitar, banjo and voice. After three decades of performing, recording and writing with various bands, exploring the rich traditions of American folk and bluegrass (The Cobbler Bob String Band and The Corncutters), West Africa (with Sefo Kanoute), and his own songwriting (Nobodaddy), his focus is now on folk music with links to his native Norfolk and the British Isles. He is interested in songs that explore themes of our relationship to the natural world, our land and each other. He says ?for years I couldn?t find a way into the music of the country I live in, but since the pandemic, something has shifted; I feel deeply drawn to the songs and tunes of my ancestors in Britain and Ireland, songs that have been survived because they may carry deep wisdom and knowledge that can help us face the challenges of the 21st century?or just tell a good story!?

Adam Clark Biography

(New York, NY) Rochester, NY based pop/rock singer-songwriter, Adam Clark, has recently just released his fourth single “Your Own Way” produced by multi-platinum producer David Schuler, who has worked with major artists such as P!nk, John Legend, and Daughtry. From growing up performing in church choirs, Adam became infatuated with music at a very young age. This trailed into his high school years where Clark found success performing with several local bands, one of which opened for major indie artist such as Copeland, Daphne Loves Derby and The Hush Sound. In 2013, Clark released his first single as a solo act, titled; Adam Clark - “Feels So Good.” “Feels So Good” would go on to gain exposure from Yahoo! Music, and a good amount of independent music blogs. The single would be his first break out into his hometown music scene. His first solo EP, No Sleep, Just Dreams, followed a year later and caught the ears of LA based producer David Schuler. Clark has since opened up Aaron Carter, Tove Lo, Big Data, Chevelle, A Day To Remember, and Zach Myers of Shinedown. Clark has gone on to release four singles with the multi-platinum producer in 2015/2016. He has been praised by major blogs such as Pop Matters as “one of the few genuine articles in his lane that could readily find success in a crowded playing field” & by Baeble Music as “a combination of modern electronic instrumentation and classic songwriter performance”. Clark is checking back into the studio to work on new music this summer and is booking a long over due North East acoustic tour for Winter 2016. "Stairs" by Ginormous Seahorse ft.
