About this concert
Melanie DEKKER The Go Getter Tour A voice like chocolate and songs textured like that of a layered cake. Diversity. Spontaneity. Sunshine. Love & soulfulness. World class strummer. And..Dog lover, especially passionate about rescue dog efforts. Combine all this with an entertainer, whose joyous spirit has created award-winning songs and usually tours upward of 70 shows per year. Miss Dekker has been known to enjoy chocolate sprinkles on bread (Hagelslag); with a Dutch family background, two grandfather's were ship Captain's while she remains the captain of her own 'music' journey. Though unsure where the music came from... She's opened for Bryan Adams, Faith Hill, Diane Krall & Russell Peters; meanwhile has 8 albums and a good sense of humour of her own (As seen on her popular youtube videos which include her own Wisdom Tooth removal, and romantic run in with a mannequin) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVLleGAPUTg .  Miss Dekker and her multi-instrumentalist talents don't come here often enough. Have you heard her 'DENMARK' song? "Until the wind stops blowing" @melanie.dekker www.melaniedekker.com. Who’s on stage with her? Hello! Allan Rodger, a music-producer. Crosstown Studio. Rodger focuses on the music (the Canucks ICEHOCKEY game can surpass that with feverish enthusiasm). He was a renegade child, and luckily he got his first drum kit to ‘wack’, after his Penticton BC parents noticed that he liked to hit the furniture with cutlery. Now a repertoire of being an expert on many instruments, he ‘chooses’ to be the master of the Stratocaster on Dekker’s country ’n pop ’n rock material.  There's more - so don't miss it. There's icing on the cake too! https://www.biohusetdk/ Thank you to Art & Music Scandinavia for the concert arrangement!

Melanie Dekker Biography

A voice like chocolate, vivacious authentic persona. Melanie Dekker, tours over 80 concerts in Europe, Canada, Mexico and the USA yearly. During Covid she worked on a Hummingbird movie script, recorded a Christmas Album - The New Old Fashioned Way, and a sassy 1920's album - Barnstormer, side one. Her roots-pop style is warm and uplifting and her 2018 'Secret Spot' album was an eagerly anticipated 10 song album sponsored by Creative BC. 'Secret Spot' was recorded in a relaxed manner over a one year time frame with award-winning Canadian engineer Sheldon Zaharko, and a few tracks include Keith Scott's guitar licks (Bryan Adams guitar player). There is loads of Melanie Dekker's music available as she tours with an elaborate discography and now with 8 albums in tow. Her biggest seller to date is “Distant Star” and her personal favourites is her live CD "Lekker Eh". Dekker has opened for Diana Krall, Bryan Adams, Russell Peters and Faith Hill, and also performed for President William J. Clinton. She’s made a string of popular youtube videos which include her music synched to her view on the Polar Bear Swim, the 2010 Olympics, Mallorca's scenic side, her own Wisdom tooth removal, her Christmas concerts in Afghanistan, and a romantic run in with a mannequin.

"I get ideas from your straight from the heart stories, and my wish for you is that you love each other more than ever."
