Pour soutenir ce nouvel album, Marcus King a également annoncé sa tournée 2024 en tête d'affiche en Amérique du Nord et en Europe, produite par Live Nation et FPC Live, ainsi que des dates en première partie de Chris Stapleton. Mood Swings est l'opus magnum de King, une symphonie éclectique de soul qui est à la fois intemporelle et actuelle. Puisant dans les moments les plus sombres de King, elle est devenue une lueur d'espoir pour King au moment où il l'a créée, et sera un refuge pour tous ceux qui traversent des épreuves similaires dans leur vie.Parallèlement à l'annonce de l'album, King a publié le titre Mood Swings , l'introduction parfaite à un album qui redéfinira toutes les notions perçues autour de Marcus King. La chanson brûle avec une batterie électro à combustion lente et une guitare jazzy, laissant l'espace à la voix de King pour briller. Il partage ses peurs les plus intimes tout en s'appuyant sur la force de la vulnérabilité et de l'honnêteté.Mood Swings nous emmène dans une direction sonore très différente de son catalogue considérable d'albums studio. La même émotion nue définit Delilah , où le piano mène la pop rock, et des morceaux novateurs comme Inglewood Motel (Halestorm) sont un chef-d'œuvre de R&B alternatif. The Marcus King Band killed at the 25rh Anniversary of The Fillmore in Denver! The band was right and the vibes easy. Marcus shreds on the songs from his recent release Mood Swings. The only criticism I had of that record was lack of King just shredding on some of the melodies. Well he does just that on the live performance. The horn section, Jack on drums, back up vocalist and entire band really play on a high level. I will be seeing him again in Washington DC this fall. Catch this tour, you won't be disappointed!

GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist, performer, and songwriter Marcus King was downright destined to play music. By eight-years-old, the fourth generation Greenville, SC native performed alongside pops, grandpa, and his uncles for the first time. Logging thousands of miles on the road as “The Marcus King Band,” he established himself with unparalleled performance prowess and a dynamic live show. During 2020, he linked up with Dan Auerbach [The Black Keys] and cut his solo debut El Dorado, garnering a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Americana Album.” Beyond praise from NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Rolling Stone christened it “excellent,” and Associated Press went as far as to claim, “El Dorado already stands out as a definite high point of 2020.” In between packing venues on his own, he performed alongside Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathanial Rateliff in addition to gracing the bills of Stagecoach and more with one seismic show after the next. Along the way, he caught the attention of Rick Rubin and signed to American Recordings.
Plugged into his old man’s dusty amp with a ’59 Les Paul in hand, Marcus set out to make a rock ‘n’ roll record in 2022. He didn’t disguise his ambitions at all. He didn’t hold back. He didn’t think about anything but writing from the gut, shooting from the hip, and playing straight from the heart. Joined by Auerbach, he made the kind of rock ‘n’ roll record that makes arenas and asses shake, and it’s called Young Blood [American Recordings/Republic Records].
