Brian Willoughby Biography

Brian Willoughby is an American singer-songwriter and recording artist of the rock, pop and alternative genres. Brian signed with indie label Lamon Records in 2009 and released his first album with a collection of his personal favorites. His first single "When I Dream" was released in digital format followed by a music video. The album has been sought out by major television networks for licensing and songs from the album can be heard on feature films including a film called Much Ado About Middle School. The album achieved rotation on terrestrial and internet radio stations worldwide and has been on many top 10 station charts across the country. His first album notably received rotation on its first college radio station which landed the album on their Top 30 chart for more than six consecutive weeks and later as a top album of the year. As a child Brian was exposed to many types of music including pop, Motown hits, country and rock 'n' roll. He had a real love for music at a very early age and his family learned right away. While on a road trip to the beach at two years old in a car seat he was heard singing along with a song playing on the car radio called “Mr. Telephone Man”. Not too long after he was given as a gift a “kiddie guitar” with plastic strings which led to jumping off of beds around the house “AC/DC” style banging on out of tune guitar strings. As he grew up, Brian got his first real electric guitar as a Christmas gift from his dad just before his thirteenth birthday. Passed down were songbooks that were previously used by his father growing up. He was able to learn quickly with books and soon learned to play songs by ear listening to the radio. His godfather later noticed his persistence and introduced him to a CD of music by who was said to be the greatest guitarist of all time Jimi Hendrix. Brian immediately became interested. His first live performance was in front of over a thousand peers at a high school assembly. He played the Jimi Hendrix version of the “Star Spangled Banner” and received a standing ovation. He later entered a regional talent show headed by music industry executives where he received a standing ovation by an audience of strangers for playing his first originally written song. This led to two music industry offers and his first realization of his calling in life. American singer-songwriter and recording artist.
