The Heatwave Biography
The Heatwave are a dancehall soundsystem from London.
Their explosive live performances have been a regular fixture at Notting Hill Carnival and a ‘must-see’ feature on the UK festival circuit for the last 10 years. They have played Glastonbury, Lovebox, Reading and Leeds, Bestival and Boomtown in recent summers while continuing to host the legendary Hot Wuk parties, one of the UK's longest-running dancehall events.
Drawing on years of experience playing to crowds of all backgrounds, as producers The Heatwave have crafted a sound that stays true to dancehall foundations while adding their own unique London twist.
The Heatwave's third single ‘Walk Out Gyal’ featuring Mr Lexx and Keida was shortlisted for ‘Best Track of 2017’ at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM awards. Previous releases have been supported by David Rodigan, Seani B, Toddla T, DJ Target, Bobby Konders, Mistajam, Tim Westwood, Robbo Ranx, Annie Mac, Ras Kwame and Sian Anderson.
