The Train Wrecks Biography

Based in Savannah, Georgia, The Train Wrecks are a band of dedicated musicians and songwriters delivering a unique and dynamic musical vision that explores a diverse array of Americana and rock influences, while still retaining a sound and feel all their own. From country, bluegrass, rockabilly and blues, to hard charging rock-n-roll with flourishes of punk and psychedelia, The Train Wrecks cover a lot of sonic territory while always managing to sound original. The Train Wrecks formed in 2005, the project of singer-songwriter Jason Bible. Raised in Texas, Bible began writing songs as a teenager, became steeped in the style and tradition of Bob Dylan’s folk period, then worked backwards to discovery the legacies of Woody Guthrie, AP Carter and other early masters of Americana songwriting. These influences, alongside many more modern musical inputs, came to bear as The Train Wrecks began playing in bars and clubs in Savannah and the region. The band quickly became known for their uniquely raw, rootsy sound and high energy live performances, and through near-constant gigging, developed a local and regional fanbase. Their debut full length recording, “Whiskey and War” was released in 2007 and was met with a positive response that led to an increased regional profile and opportunities to headline club dates, embark on regional tours, and gain opening slots for legends like Jerry Jeff Walker, BB King and others along the way. “Whiskey and War” was followed by their subsequent recordings, “Saddle Up” in 2011, and “We Roll On” in 2014, each adding depth and breadth to the band’s growing repertoire of original music. All the while the group continued to build fans in and around the southeast on the strength of their songwriting, musicianship, and raucous live performances. Today, The Train Wrecks are comprised of singer and guitarist Jason Bible, guitarist Stu Harmening, drummer Jeremy Hammons, and bassist Colin Motlagh. The band is excited to release its fourth full length recording, “Once Again” in summer 2017. This latest recording promises to build on the band’s unique sound while also suggesting some new musical horizons. The Train Wrecks are rightly proud of their longevity and contribution to the Savannah, Lowcountry, and regional music scene, and the band hopes to continue to write and perform original Americana music, share musical experiences with long-time friends, and gain new fans, one show and one record at a time.
