Rod Coote is a rising singer-songwriter who has established a loyal community of listeners around his warm heartfelt indie folk style music through touring nationally supporting Australian acts including The Dreggs, Kyle Lionhart, Nick Cunningham, Joel Leggett, Alivan Blu and continuing to build a grassroots following busking along the Australian coastline.The independent artist's music produced by platinum-award winning producer Garrett Kato (Ziggy Alberts, Jack Botts, Kim Churchill) has accumulated over 3 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music with the support of airplay on Triple J Radio, supporting acts on national tours and quickly gaining a genuine grassroots following from busking around Australia's coastline in Byron Bay, Newcastle, Tamworth and Melbourne. 2024 will see Rod Coote playing his first headline Australian tour both the east and west coast before heading overseas to play his first shows in Europe promoting his new single ‘Blue Lake’, a sincere song about the realities of adulthood and maturing through lived experiences. This is the first single featured on an EP produced by Garrett Kato in Byron Bay studio, releasing later on this year.

Rod Coote is an Australian singer-songwriter who creates warm modern indie anthemic folk songs blending acoustic instrumentation with sincere storytelling & songwriting, reminiscent of his contemporaries Noah Kahan, Ben Howard & Hollow Coves. These songs have led him to support acts The Dreggs, Winterbourne, Morgan Evans, Mark Wilkinson & Kyle Lionhart
Based in Melbourne, Rod experienced a tranquil childhood growing up nestled in his small Australian countryside hometown. From building a grassroots community of listeners from busking by the coastline, he has gone on to play his own headline shows across Australia & Europe.
His latest EP ‘Where Rivers Meet The Sea' was inspired by his sea change experience moving from the countryside to coastline. Produced by Garrett Kato ( Ziggy Alberts, Riley Pearce), Hein Cooper (Lawson Hull) & Jackson Barclay (Hollow Coves, Woodlock), this EP met a warm embrace in Australia receiving radio airplay on Triple J & gaining support overseas from music communities AlexRainbird, 7 Layers, Mahogany, Indie Folk Central & APEIRON.
2024 will see Rod releasing a new EP produced by Garrett Kato & Hayden Calnin with his own headline shows across Australia & Europe playing on 'Surfana Festival' line up in September.
