Lubomyr Melnyk is one of the most exciting pianists on stage today and in spite of his age, he constantly enthralls his audiences with magical atmospheres from the piano and this is due, in part, to his amazing piano virtuosity. No one in the world can play his concert pieces, they are just beyond the scope of everyone else. He is also the pioneer of Continuous Piano Music, which in itself is a great milestone in piano history where the piano was given a new voice to create sonorous and emotional soul-scapes that take the listener deep into another world.
Some consider him to be the greatest pianist alive today. Why? Because he uses his extraordinary speed and virtuosity to create effects on the piano that no one has ever been able to do before, seemingly electronic sounds out of the piano! His piano technique demands elements of the Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Kung Fu and over the years, his “devotion to perfection” has taken the piano into completely new dimensions, He is duly called “The Prophet Of The Piano”
Between 1980 and 1990, he released six albums, two of which were double lp-s, and his “The SONG OF GALADRIEL” was listed as "one of the 10 most important albums of our time " by the New York STEREO REVIEW MAGAZINE. Since 2002 he has released about 16 new digital albums /vinyls including "Illirion" on SONY Classical, as well as on Erased Tapes (four albums), Unseen Worlds and more.

Lubomyr Melnyk is a Ukrainian pianiste extraordinare who has created an amazing new language for the piano.
Classically trained and greatly affected by the minimalist movement in the early 1970s, he has developed his own unique language for the piano, named after the principle of maintaining a continuous, unbroken stream of sound.
Lubomyr Melnyk is a true innovator, exploring new directions for contemporary music. Not only is he regarded as one of the world’s fastest concert pianists, his compositions also truly carry the listener to new realms. To witness one of his rare live performances is nothing short of a mind-opening experience.
Melnyk has shown a remarkable devotion to the instrument, always striving to discover new ways of composing music in the continuous mode. His focus is on the actual sound of the piano as much as the harmonies and melodies of the music.
Using rapid and complex note patterns, Lubomyr's virtuoso piano technique forms overtones that blend, collide or even create new melodies in rare moments, and thereby shape the composition beyond its original form. To accomplish this requires a special technique, one that has taken him many years to master.
Lubomyr Melnyk and his unique continuous music technique to a wider audience with 'Corollaries', an album produced by Peter Broderick in 2013. Now he returns with a 24-minute mini album entitled 'Evertina'. Featuring three newly composed solo piano pieces, the long-form EP showcases another side to Lubomyr Melnyk – his more gentle and melodic work.
