Thrive Biography

“Don’t be a follower when you can be a leader.”

-Thrive, “Freedom of speech”

Thrive is an American Reggae group founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter duo Aaron Borowitz and Kenneth Rogers. Based out of northern California, the band eventually made their home in Santa Cruz in 2009.

During that time, The American Reggae movement was starting to gain momentum. Bands like SOJA and Rebelution were rising in popularity, and Thrive found themselves opening for these bands and cultivating their own fan base.

In October 2010 Thrive released their first studio album "Gratitude Attitude". Shockingly, the relatively unknown group shot up to #4 on the Itunes Reggae charts, which pushed the band towards many more opportunities.

In the following years, Thrive found themselves performing at festivals and night clubs all over the West Coast. Their first major tour was "Everything Changes Tour" with SOJA in 2011.

May 7th 2013 Thrive released their second full length studio release "Relentless". This album featured the single "Just Fine" featuring Eric Rachmany of the band Rebelution, and went to #3 on itunes Reggae charts, as well as #6 on the Billboard Reggae charts. Following this release, Thrive landed a performance at California Roots Music And Arts Festival. During this performance, Eric Rachmany and EN young joined Thrive on stage, and the audience erupted in an explosion of energy.

After that incredible experience, The band recorded a single entitled "Broken" featuring Hirie. The tune was recorded mixed and mastered by EN Young. This would be the last song their beloved saxophonist Scott Shipper would record on before he passed away from cancer.

In 2015, Thrive released The "Thrive EP". This project featured Trevor Young of the band SOJA on the single "The Gift". Following the release of the EP, the group toured relentlessly through established and new markets, gaining new fans and growing their presence in the Reggae community.

Currently Thrive is recording their 4th studio release, which will feature a few musicians and singers the band has met through their incredible journey. Their latest single "Not Enemies" is available for FREE on their website www.thrivingmusic.com. Thrive's brand new full length album is set to release late Summer/ early Autumn, 2017.
