BFS was awesome. They put on a great show and their energy was so good. They had fabulous openers too. I think the acoustics of this venue suck though, so the sound was not as good as it could have been. There were times when they were playing some of my favorite songs and I couldn’t even tell until it got to the chorus because it was really hard to make out the lyrics. And the banter between songs was almost completely inaudible. Also I paid $13 for one single drink that came in a laughably small cup and was mostly just ice. The most unbearable thing about this venue, however, was the heat. I’ve been to some hot concerts in my life, and I was totally prepared to sweat going into this one, but this was a new level of hot. Even the band was miserable and commented on the temperature after ever single song. There was zero air circulation in the building - the lobby was perfectly cool and air conditioned but the concert area itself was stifling. It was so hot that it was hard to have fun, I felt like I was just getting through the concert more than actually enjoying myself. Also was bummed the band didn’t play High School Never Ends. They may have done a second encore where they played it and I missed it, but it was way too hot to hang out and wait to see if they’d come back out. I will definitely 100% see BFS again given the opportunity but I will absolutely never return to this venue.

Bowling for Soup Biography

Bowling for Soup (acronym: BFS, or sometimes B4S) is an alternative, comedy band based in Denton, Texas (but originally from Wichita Falls, Texas) formed in 1994 from the ruins of an old metal band. Quoting Jaret Reddick, the lead singer, "we wanted to make happy music". They're known for their often humorous lyrics, upbeat guitar riffs, and Jaret's voice.

They are best known for their singles "Girl All the Bad Guys Want" in 2002 on Drunk Enough to Dance which was nominated for a 2003 Grammy Award for "Best Pop Performance by a Group or Duo" and "1985" (originally written by Mitch Allan of SR-71) in 2004 on A Hangover You Don't Deserve. The band's name is derived from comedian Steve Martin's "Bowling for Shit" routine from his 1978 comedy album, Wild and Crazy Guy, itself a reference to Bowling for Dollars. Their single '1985' can be found on the UK and the Norwegian editions of Singstar Rocks for the PS2.

They have also became hits on Radio Disney with edits of "1985", "Punk Rock 101", and "High School Never Ends".

Band Lineup:
Jaret Reddick - Lead Vocals/guitar
Chris Burney - Guitar/vocals
Eric Chandler - Bass/vocals
Gary Wiseman - Drums
