Hang Massive en concert à Nantes le mercredi 5 juin 2024.--Hang Massive, c'est Danny Cudd et Markus Johansson. Le duo commence à jouer ensemble à l'été 2010. Depuis ils parcourent la planète et ont acquis une notoriété mondiale, captivant leur auditoire avec une performance aussi puissante qu'apaisante.Nul besoin d'avoir voyagé jusqu'à Goa ou séjourné dans un ashram des contreforts tibétains pour apprécier la musique de ce duo anglo-suédois réuni par la passion d'un instrument, le Hang et d'une musique, l'ambiant. Prenons les choses dans l'ordre ... qu'est-ce que le Hang ? Un instrument sacré tibétain ? Un héritage musical des Incas au Pérou ? Pas du tout, cet instrument de musique très en vogue en forme de lentille géante que l'on voit fleurir un peu partout, est né... à Berne, en Suisse, en l'an 2000. Sa sonorité douce, délicatement métallique permet une grande variété mélodique et rythmique. Qui se marrie donc très bien à l'ambiant ... mais qu'est-ce que l'ambiant ? En essayant d'être concis, on va dire que c'est une musique planante, d'atmosphère, qui puise son inspiration dans la musique instrumentale des années 70 mais aussi dans la musique minimaliste, avant de connaitre un vrai développement lors de sa rencontre avec la musique électronique dans les années 90.Vous voyez le topo désormais ? La musique de Hang Massive invite à la méditation, elle détend le corps et renforce l'esprit. Ambiant, new age, célestes et envoûtantes, leurs créations sont devenues virales dès leurs débuts en 2011... Moins de 16 ans accompagné d'un parent. Moins de 18 ans accompagné d'un majeur. Hang Massive Biography
Since 2011 Hang Massive have shaped the global handpan music scene, pioneering a successful electronic act with a magnetizing live show. Blending dream-like acoustic and upbeat electronic sounds, their unique style inspires a worldwide audience.
The magic began in 2011 with their first music release and video “Once Again”, which gained wide renown and was watched over 60 million times online. Its viral success introduced people around the world to a captivating new instrument and saw the emergence of a global fan base devoted to this groundbreaking music project.
The founding members, Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat, met on the shores of Goa, India, forging their creative partnership in its vibrant international arts scene. Over the following years, the Hang Massive project evolved from busking on the streets of European cities to performing festival line-ups and high-profile music venues around the world. Today the duo split their time between their home studio in Goa and touring globally.
Dedicated Dzogchen practitioners for over 10 years, Danny and Markus’ music is a direct expression of the empowerments received from their Root Guru Ziji Rinpoche, Lineage Successor of Venerable Wangdor Rimpoche (see shortmoments.com). Their committed practice has supported not only their music to flourish but also a harmonious friendship and vibrant creative partnership.
Continually experimenting over the years, the duo released a wide range of hang inspired music, EPs, albums and videos in collaboration with a stellar list of producers and musicians.
2018 saw the release and great success of their album “Luminous Emptiness,” featuring standout tracks like “End of Sky” and “The Secret Kissing of the Sun and the Moon,” which has amassed almost 12 million views online.
In 2024, Hang Massive will launch a new immersive album and live show, exploring the transformative power of sound and music as a form of medicine.
With over a decade of creative collaboration, Hang Massive's future is set to shine brightly with their unforgettable evolution of creativity.
