About this concert
Clare Grogan has worked extensively in Music, Film, Television, Theatre and Radio for 30+ years. The summer she left school her band Altered Images were signed to Epic Records and Clare appeared in the BAFTA winning comedy Gregory's Girl. Altered Images quickly had worldwide success, selling millions of records, which topped the charts in several countries. They recorded 3 Top 10 Albums and had 6 UK TOP 40 hits ? working with legendary producers Martin Rushent, Mike Chapman and Tony Visconti. They were voted Best New Group at the NME awards the same year they were invited to play at The Royal Command Performance. Altered Images worked closely with Scottish painter David Band creating original pieces of artwork that were released as special edition prints along with the singles. The visual aspect to her work remains important. Clare recently received a Special Recognition Award at the Scottish Music Awards. She made her debut at the Royal Albert Hall where she joined Texas onstage and continues to play to sell out crowds across the world. Altered Images' songs have always had an established audience and in recent years a brand new one as well. Clare couldn?t be happier about the opportunity to breathe new life into songs she co-wrote and loves playing in front of such enthusiastic crowds.

Altered Images Biography

In their first incarnation, Altered Images and their iconic frontwoman Clare Grogan enjoyed an intense burst of success that made them the brightest emerging stars of the new wave scene, winners of the Best New Act at the NME Awards and in turn big chart hitters in the 1980s with smash singles including a catalogue of Top 10 classics such as - ‘Happy Birthday’, ‘I Could Be Happy’ and ‘Don’t Talk To Me About Love’.

Altered Images have been touring on-and-off for the past two decades, most recently returning to arenas as guests of The Human League, but now led by Clare Grogan, Altered Images make a long awaited return with the news that they will release their new album ‘Mascara Streakz’ on August 26th representing the first new music in almost forty years.

‘Mascara Streakz’ sees Clare working with Altered Images alumni Stephen Lironi, alongside further collaborators including former Suede guitarist and now Jessie Buckley musical partner, Bernard Butler as well as Robert Hodgens (aka Bobby Bluebell of The Bluebells) and is a set of songs that ranks up there with their very best early ‘80s hits.
