Time really does fly when you’re catching awesome bands for free every Monday night. Get to know the bands:Some things in this life feel cosmically predetermined. The meeting of The Vovos is one such star-crossed event. The five piece are known and loved for their punk bitch attitude and DIY ethos. Their music is a perfect combination of bold, assertive, and bratty: sounding as though it would be equally at home on an indie coming-of-age film as it would be on the main stage of the Big Day Out 1999.Barefoot Bowls Club (not to be mistaken with the sport commonly played by retirees) is a 5 piece musical bunch from Naarm/Melbourne who love hot chips and all have matching haircuts. Their songs cover all the important stuff like tinder, mental health, growing old and sun-smart safety. Leo (they/them) is a Naarm/Melbourne based singer songwriter writing earnest and sincere songs in the indie/folk/rock genre. Their debut single ‘Doctor’ was released in early 2022 with an eerie yet hard-hitting nature both lyrically and musically. Leo’s music widely takes influence from City and Colour, Nick Cave, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sorry. They are also inspired by local acts such as The Lazy Susans, Bec Stevens, Eaglemont and ENOLA. As of 2023 Leo is joined by an incredible 4 piece band, to complete the atmospheric heavy nature of Doctor, Half Unconscious, Rough Hands and their upcoming releases. 2023 has seen Leo release their indie-pop sophomore single ‘Half Unconscious’ and ‘Rough Hands’ as well as play alongside indie royalty Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, The Lazy Susan’s, Tamara and the Dreams and many other AU favourites.Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on.
