About this concert
Launderette venue information Old Cinema Launderette is a 55 capacity venue with bar facilities. It has good wheelchair access and facilities. If you have additional needs, please email mrwishywashypresents@gmail.com to discuss. The venue is compact and is a mix of seating and standing. Please arrive early to get a seat. This cannot, however be guaranteed as its first come, first served. Doors are generally 7pm, sometimes a little earlier, sometimes a little later depending on how the soundcheck progresses. Please note there is no access to the launderette before doors open. There is a wee bar just up the street, the Hop Knocker where you can get a drink if you arrive before doors open. Parking is free and on street. Generally, in the evening the parking availability is good. Music is generally from 7.45pm and finished by 10.30pm but this is only a guide. Tickets Tickets are only available via https://www.wegottickets.com/WishyWashy unless otherwise stated. There may be tickets available on the night of the show if it is not sold out, however please buy tickets early. This really helps us plan the show better. Born and raised in Glasgow by two classical musicians, Chris studied piano and viola before taking up guitar, bass, and drums in his teens, eventually studying music composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After graduating he began work on his first album, writing and recording everything from home. His Mercury nominated debut 'Architect' was released in 2015 and after a spell of touring the UK and Europe he returned to his home studio and began work on his Twilight Zone inspired second album 'The Midnight Sun' which was released in 2016 and shortlisted for Scottish Album of the Year. He supported Elbow on their UK and North American tour which led him to record his third album 'Health' at their studio in Salford with Craig Potter, which was released in 2019 and also shortlisted for Scottish Album of the Year. Now back in his "new and improved" home studio, Chris recorded and released his fourth album ?Alluvium? in May 2022 on Bella Union. He is also a keen artist, and paints all his own album artwork.

Great to finally get out and see live music again. Chris was in excellent form, and treated us to several new tracks from the recently released Alluvium album, plus many more from previous albums. His band has a new line-up, essentially a different bass player, but they sounded on top form too. The only thing that hasn’t changed is people who stand at the back of gigs and think it’s perfectly acceptable talk to one another. Don’t do it. It’s so disrespectful to the artist, and the other gig-goers who are enjoying listening the band’s creative talents.
