Keyon Harrold Biography
Keyon harrold has built a reputation as one of the most sought after trumpeters in the world. Harrold is an esteemed graduate of “Mannes School of Music” at New School University. “Keyon Harrold Is Equal Parts Music -Billboard.” Acclaimed Trumpeter, composer, vocalist, educator, and band leader. Harrold is cited as “The Future of The Trumpet” by Wynton Marsalis-Downbeat.
As an artist Keyon uses his platform inspire and to bring about positive change, frequently collaborating with organizations Global Citizen and Refugee International, giving with back with talents and financial contributions with his “Compositions for a Cause” initiative. ( Harrold wrote “ Refugee Song” ft Common and Gregory Porter for the International Refugee Crises.)
As a composer, Keyon wrote the theme song for the “Queen Latifah Show”.
As and Educator, Keyon has done lectures and residencies at Berklee College of Music, Master Classes at Jazz St. Louis, Peabody Music Institute, National Young Arts Foundation as well as Hans Shuman’s Jazz Reach educational program.
Keyon is a prolific collaborator (D’Angelo, Nas, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Common, Rihanna, Eminem, Gregory Porter, Maxwell, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill Gary Clark Jr., and PJ Morton. Keyon has been a part of 100’s of notable recordings spanning various Genres. Harrold was trumpeter in the Cirque Du Soleil’s, “ Michael Jackson Immortal World Tour”
Harrold was the trumpet voice on the Grammy Award winning biopic soundtrack, “Miles Ahead” about Mile Davis.
Keyon has toured his band all over the world; receiving critical acclaim for electrifying performances at notable festivals “Love Supreme Festival”(UK) “North Sea Jazz Festival” (Netherlands). Harrold has taken on residencies in San Francisco at “The Black Cat Jazz Club”, where he recorded a live album due for release. In New York, he has done residency’s at the McKittrick Hotel, and most notably at the world famous “Bluenote Jazz Club”.
