About this concert
Golden Shoals blend old time Appalachian traditions with fine original songwriting and excellent musicianship on fiddle, guitar and banjo. They combine Americana, bluegrass, folk, jazz and more, involving traditional and contemporary influences to great effect.
Amy Alvey and Mark Kilianski formed their musical partnership back in 2013 in Boston, where they both studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Formerly known as Hoot & Holler, Golden Shoals released an EP and one album under their previous band name. Their second album was released in 2020 to warm reviews, and is packed with exceptional songs. Golden Shoals have toured extensively in the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany and the UK, and have appeared at festivals including Blackpot in Louisiana, Americanafest in Nashville, Omagh Bluegrass Festival in Northern Ireland and Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival in Australia to name just a few.

Golden Shoals Biography
“Golden Shoals bridge the sometimes distant worlds of traditional bluegrass and old time music together. With one foot steeped in tradition and the other focused on fresh songwriting, Golden Shoals are helping to further the narrative of American Roots music and introducing the traditions of our past to a whole new generation of listeners.” - Kris Truelsen, WBCM Radio Bristol
