About this concert
The small but perfectly formed Nik Kershaw and his fabulous band are pleased to announce an intimate festival warm-up show at Epic Studios Norwich on Saturday 29th June. There will be a distinct lack of dance moves, lasers, pyrotechnics, Jazz hands or anything remotely to do with “showbusiness”. Very little sartorial effort will be made (minimal sequins or spandex). Just expect a great band, playing great songs, up close and in your face. It might get sweaty ! Just Hitz – You know the ones: Wouldn’t it be Good, The Riddle, I won’t let the sun go down on me, Dancing Girls, Wide Boy, Human Racing,Don Quixote, yada, yada, yada, and other Bitz, highlights from Nik’s 9 studio albums and his career as a songwriter. Maybe even the odd cheeky cover version. Who knows ? Don’t miss this rare chance to see the man once described by Elton John as “the best songwriter of his generation” (disclaimer–Elton may have been off his tits when he said it).    Accessible Info There is a lift up to the first floor and a ramp into the studio. You are also welcome to use our fenced-off disabled area at standing events. We also have a disabled toilet but you will need to ask a member of staff for the key.  Carer Ticket Carers will not need a physical ticket. So long as you have a ticket for yourself, you are welcome to bring a carer in for free without a ticket as long as you can provide proof of carer status.

Nik Kershaw Biography

Born Nicholas David Kershaw in Bristol, England on March 1, 1958, Kershaw played guitar and sang in a number of underground bands before deciding on a career as a songwriter. However, he ended up performing his own songs rather than giving them to others, and signed a deal with MCA Records in 1983, which spawned a debut single, "I Won't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", which just missed out on the UK Top 40. At the beginning of 1984, he made his breakthrough when "Wouldn't It Be Good", featuring a video of Kershaw as a chromakey-suited alien, reached Number 4 in the UK charts. He enjoyed three more Top 20 hits from debut album Human Racing , including the title track and a successful re-issue of his debut single, which ultimately proved his biggest hit as a performer when it got to Number 2 in the UK.
