Rob Wheeler Biography

Somewhere between the haunting melodies, the delicate intricate musicianship & the intensely fragile lyrics; Rob Wheeler has discovered a refreshing new way of doing something timeless;
telling stories with his songs.

His growing catalogue is a collection of folk-inspired warm ballads & glossy Americana-pop songs, but with a typically British cynical view on love, lust, life, death, hope, regret, Faith & despair.
He has received serious critical acclaim from respected music journalists such as Neil McCormick (The Daily Telegraph) & Paul Sexton (BBC Radio 2) as well as artists such as Wildwood Kin, Steve Balsamo & The Cardigans.
He has been likened to Ray LaMontagne; John Mayer; Paul Carrack & Bruce Springsteen.

The critically-acclaimed 2021 album "Ten Embers”; was recorded with some of the most respected session musicians in the world; including guitarist Robbie McIntosh (John Mayer/Paul McCartney) ACM award-winning drummer Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow/Willie Nelson) and mastered by Pete Maher (U2 & The 1975).

In November 2021 the festive folk EP - MidWinter Songs became Rob's first UK number 1 on the singer-songwriter album chart; and hit number 5 in the USA too.
In early 2022 his hard work and creative output was rewarded with a global deal with Bucks Music; and Rob oversaw a restoration of his debut album which was reissued as a 25 track, remixed and remastered deluxe double album.

Where Rob really leaves his mark on you is through his soulful voice; particularly at his live performances. Hearing his raw, powerful, yet smokily smooth voice over his tender guitar & piano, you feel you have just experienced the musical equivalent of sipping a perfectly aged whisky, sat next to an open fire, as the cruel, cold modern world outside, for a short time at least, disappears.
