About this concert
Howling Bells will return to the stage for their first tour in seven years as part of the National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour in January. The band will play their much-loved eponymous debut album in full at the shows, which include a date at London’s 229 on 22nd January. The tour is part of The National Lottery’s Revive Live, a campaign launched this summer by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust to help the UK grassroots live music scene survive post-coronavirus. Released in the UK on Bella Union, Howling Bells was much acclaimed and featured across 2006’s year-end Best-Of lists. NME rated it 9/10, describing it as “By turns beguiling and enthralling… an extraordinary album”. Rolling Stone went on to name the band one of their three artists to watch that year. The album saw the band spend two full years touring the UK, Europe, Australia and the US, both headlining and supporting the likes of Mercury Rev, Snow Patrol and The Killers, as well as playing festival sets including Reading and Leeds and Latitude.
