About this concert
Perth-born songwriter Paul Watling is making a rare visit back to his west coast hometown in the new year, bringing his moonlit alt-folk trio - Dusken Lights. The band can’t wait to stroll through Kings Park, climb the DNA tower and have tea with Ms Susan Baker at the Perth Zoo. Oh, and I almost forgot, they’ll be playing at Clancy’s Fish Bar in Fremantle on Sun 7th Jan.Special guests on the night will be Brodie & The Buzzkills and Beautiful Losers (Duo)Dusken Lights' new record is currently under construction, but you may be moved to check streaming services for their’ first album In The Service Of Spring. Iain Shedden in The Australian described the album as “a collection of beautifully understated songs with intertwining melodies, rumbling percussion and Dylanesque lyrics”. Paul Gough on ABC Radio National said it was “one of the great surprise releases of the year, I love this album.”Those with extra long memories may remember that Paul Watling left Perth back in the 80’s with his first band Rabbits Wedding. RW recorded a handful of Indie-chart topping releases for Sydney’s Waterfront Records. The band was in the convoy of groups that emigrated east in that era, amongst The Triffids, Tall Tales and True and Chads Tree. Now Paul is back with Dusken Lights and he’s hoping you’ll come out to the shows and fall in love with songs that have one foot in the ether and one foot in the bright light of day.Links Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/artist/DuskenLightsFacebook - https://facebook.com/duskenlightsInstagram - https://instagram.com/duskenlights
