Born in Portland Oregon, Will Brahm was immediately glued to his father’s record player and surrounded himself constantly with music. He received a guitar for Christmas in 2004 and swiftly dove head first into being a musician.
He attended California State University Long Beach where he earned his bachelors in Jazz Guitar Performance. In 2015 he joined New West Guitar Group and began his touring career. He then joined Arturo Sandoval’s band, whom he still tours and records with.
After making his introduction as a jazz guitar aficionado, Brahm quickly developed his own songwriting and began his catalog of music that pulls on heartstrings while dazzling on guitar. In 2019 Will released “Venture Atlas” with his acoustic band, showing his compositional depth paired with his fierce rhythmic approach to music. Later in 2019 Brahm competed as a semi finalist in the Herbie Hancock Guitar Competition, getting to perform for jazz greats like Pat Metheny, John Scofield, and Russell Malone.
Brahm then bagan exploring deeper sonic possibilities, implementing the electric guitar and new textures into his music. This led to his signature band sound which is rooted in strong melodic songs, and decorated in lush sonic landscapes that make up far more than the sum of its parts. His music evokes the compositional depth of Pat Metheny Group, and the singing captivating melodic sense of guitarists like Jeff Beck and David Gilmour. Brahm’s new album will be released in 2024.
