About this concert
Tantrum Zentrum present: a POST PUNK AFTERNOON. Dance the Sunday blues away to live post punk sounds at South London's premiere alternative music venue, The Amersham Arms. On the menu, we have: KORINTHIANS (BE) A postpunk quartet from Ghent, Belgium, characterized by some as ?doom disco? or ?new-romantic darkwave?. They are inspired by artists such as Goose, Mogwai, Linea Aspera, The Soft Moon, Boytronic, M83, Kite, Agent Side Grinder and Boy Harsher. NAEVUS (UK) A British experimental rock group. Formed in London in 1998 by Lloyd James (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Joanne Owen (bass, accordion), Naevus were often categorised as part of the 'neofolk' genre. Their music has also drawn comparison with acts such as Swans and Wire, and often includes elements of industrial music. TANTRUM ZENTRUM (CAN/UK) A British / North American post-punk band from London. Inspired by both early 70s German rock and late 70s New York no-wave bands, they deliver sonic dissonance and poppy hooks with great energy and style - like Killing Joke but on happy pills. DEAD BLOOD CELLS (UK) Dead Blood Cells were formed in very early 2017 in Medway, bringing together a number of influences including Darkwave, Electro-Industrial and more of those tricky Post-Punk genres. It is a marriage of hauntingly sweet dark vocals with industrial noise. We will start early and end early. The Amersham Arms is conveniently located just outside the New Cross overground and train station. Price: £8 in advance, £10 on the door (cash or card). 18+ only
