About this concert
Award-winning multi instrumentalist who is one of the best musicians of his generation. Tim is a double BBC Musician of the year (BBC FOLK AWARDS 2012) and BBC Scotland 2020. Tim was The Chieftains guitarist+accordionist of choice for 10 years touring globally and appearing with artistes like Ry Cooder + Paul Brady, Tim also has a long standing solo career. Rated by many to be one of the words best guitarists and melodeon players in the celtic folk scene and has recorded & toured with everyone from Christy Moore to Altan & Natalie MacMaster, Julie Fowlis + Lunasa. Ross is a 3 times nominated Musician of the year at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2013, 2016, 2018, he won best duo in the same awards with Ali Hutton in 2017. He won Compossr of the Year in 2015 at the Scots Trad Music Awards. He performs with bands including Treacherous Orchestra, Salsa Celtica, Dougie Maclean and lots more. Ross has 5 solo albums to date Wide Open in 2013, Remembering in 2015, Sanctuary in 2017, Vana in 2020 and Live at the Gorbals in 2022 Kirk McElhinney is also one of the finest gutar player/singers on the scene.... this feels like a double headline affair!!

Tim Edey (BBC Radio Two's Musician of the year 2012 (BBC R2 FOLK AWARDS) multi- instrumentalist and singer, has toured the world and recorded with most of the major names in Celtic/Contemporary roots music including; The Chieftains, Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Ross Ainslie, Natalie MacMaster, Donnell Leahy, Altan, Capercaillie, Brendan Power, Michael McGoldrick, Seamus Begley, Dougie Maclean, Kevin Burke, Liam O'Maonlai, The Barra MacNeills, JP Cormier, Shaun Davey, Session A9, Lunasa, Vinnie Kilduff , Mary Black, Session A9, Julie Fowlis, Frankie Gavin to name but a few...

Tim now a name on the world stage in his own right after seventeen years of hard work, is rated by many to be one of the world's finest ever Melodoen and Guitar players in the folk & contemporary scene today!

Originally from Broadstairs in Kent and of Irish descent. Tim honed his style learning from his father Richard a fine guitarist and listening to Ed Boyd, Steve Cooney and Django Reinhardt. He has lived in Ireland and now resides in Perthshire, Scotland where he is based with his family and tours all over the world regularly from.

Tim's live solo shows are a stunning mix of world music inspired instrumental virtuosity and passion with a strong Celtic theme, to audience - chorus lines and above all a highly entertaining night of musical genius.
