Jason Isaacs Biography

When Jason was 17, his parents bought him a saxophone for Christmas… this was the start of something big. By 21, Jason was doing what he loved, playing regular gigs with a Rhythm and Blues band. Jason spent the next two years in Thailand, learning his trade and honing his skills. Jason’s natural ease with blues music led him straight into gigging with a local Blues band. During his year in The Big Apple, life also presented Jason with some uniquely exciting opportunities – he played with Blue Lou, of The Blues Brothers fame and, at an Emmy Awards party, he sang with the legendary Tony Bennett. Jason never lost sight of his fundamental desire to bring Blues to people who love music so, while working the bars, he revelled in Munich’s relaxed live music scene. Playing wherever and whenever, his audience was as attentive in the streets as they were in the bars. Back home, Jason sang and played jazz saxophone in many of Newcastle’s top restaurants and bars. Jason gained thousands of fans, working incredibly hard to keep them by delivering fantastic performances night after night. Responding to a new generation of swing fans created by artists such as Robbie Williams and Harry Connick Junior, Jason found his natural talent for the Rat Pack classics was attracting a massive following. With Jason’s reputation growing night on night, the Costa del Sol became the perfect place to shine. Jason played to packed audiences seven nights a week; he got bigger and better with every set and, after an exciting two years, Jason headed home perfectly prepared for his UK big band debut. 2003 was a turning point for Jason when he returned home to join band leader, Dave Connolly. Sell out Big Band gigs followed very quickly and Jason now commands audiences into their thousands worldwide. Festival goers have been delighted by Jason for three years running and 5 star reviews follow him wherever he performs. Read about Jason in the EdFest mag. Jason has also conquered the theatrical stage, starring in three highly successful Swing Fever productions in his home town of Newcastle. Jason’s fifteen year career was publically rewarded in March 2010 when he was crowned the Nations Favourite Crooner on national TV. Jason invites you to watch his winning performance and download his winning single, recorded at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. This prestigious accolade hasn’t changed down-to-earth Jason at all. Wherever there’s an audience wanting to share his passion and his voice… he’ll be there.
