Amanda Perez Biography

Amanda Perez born in 1980 in Fort Wayne, Indiana is a rhythm and blues artist.

In 2001, she released her first single titled "Never". "Never" ended becoming Perez' first charting single in her career, peaking at #79 on the Billboard Hot 100. In April 2002, she released her first album titled Where You At?, under the independent label, Powerhouse Records. Although the album did not chart on the Billboard 200, it was hit in the eastern part of the United States, and made her a local celebrity in her hometown. It also brought the attention of Virgin Records, who signed her later that year and decided to release a re-worked version of Where You At? nationally.

In 2003, the re-worked version of the album, this time titled Angel, was released nationally. It peaked at #73 on Billboard 200, and spawned two singles, "Angel" and " I Like It". "Angel" was released as the first single from the album, and peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first and only Top 20 single. Her second single, "I Like It" did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, but became a club and urban hit for Perez.

In 2004, Perez released her third album titled I Pray. The album peaked lower than her previous album, peaking at #90 on the Billboard 200, and only one single was released from the album. The single, "I Pray", failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first single to fail to chart.
