Correspondents Biography

Correspondents is Frank Corva making music with his friends from around the world. The project was borne from a desire to write and perform music while traveling around the world. Frank had been playing in a punk band - Stay Alive - in the U.S. (New York City), but had to quit it as he began traveling throughout Europe, Africa and then North, Central & South America in 2009 for various personal and professional pursuits (these travels are documented at http://www.allintogethernowinternational.blogspot.com). Wherever Frank went, he had his guitar with him and would write and perform whenever and wherever possible. The Burn for This EP documents Frank reflecting on and coming to terms with some trying years of his life. After writing and performing the songs in various adaptations and forms in countries such as Venezuela, Ghana, Guatemala, Germany, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Austria, France, The Netherlands, and the U.S., Frank finally recorded them. Having recruited an extremely talented group of friends from around the world to play on the record, the result is an acoustic guitar- and vocals-driven record featuring piano, violin, lead guitar, and back-up vocal accompaniments that are as precise as they are heartfelt. It was a cathartic experience to have the songs come to life on record and Frank is looking forward to sharing them with the new region of the world in which he is currently living – Asia. As a newfound resident of Tokyo, Japan, Frank has recently gotten his feet wet with his first few shows here. Inspired by the DIY subculture live house scene in Tokyo, Frank is looking forward to performing frequently and recording more music while living here.
