With "a voice for the gods that can transport listeners to other realms" (Boston Globe), Mary Fahl is an expressive, emotional singer/songwriter who first achieved fame as lead singer and co-founder of the mid-1990s chamber-pop group October Project. Mary’s latest album pays tribute to music that defines her as an artist: Pink Floyd, George Harrison, Moody Blues, ELO, Rolling Stones, and others. Mary’s own elegant, cinematic songs draw on classical and world music sources, American art song, as well as thinking person’s folk-pop. Mary Fahl Biography
Mary Fahl has an almost Opera-like voice, exploring the reaches of folk and soft new age rock music.
She was originally with the band October Project from 1993 to about 1995 for 2 albums until they split up.
Fahl's most recent solo album is called The Other Side of Time and was released in 2003. This work was a mix of pop, opera and folk. She has great talent as showcased in her singing one song in Italian.
Her self-penned song "Going Home" was featured on the "God's and Generals" civil war epic soundtrack. That beautiful piece has a celtic flavor. Overall her voice can tell a story, cry the blues or take you to a far away castle on a moonlit night with candles glowing from misty windows.
