About this concert
Doors: 8PM / Show: 9PM / 21+GANSERWhat propels Ganser as a band, for me, is what shines here: their performance of joyful apathy so often has many other moving parts underneath that suggest that they are a band of deep caring, simply unsatisfied with the hands theyve been dealt by the world. - Hanif Abdurraqib The Chicago art rock 4-piece made a splash during 2020 with their sophomore album Just Look at That Sky, finding themselves included in best of lists from that year including Vice, Rolling Stone, Paste, and more. Through the pandemic, the band remotely collaborated with other artists for a remix EP including Andy Bell (Oasis, Ride), Sad13 (Speedy Ortiz), Adam Faulkner (Gilla Band), and Bartees Strange while communicating with listeners online waiting for the opportunity to play their mix of noisy post-punk with surreal humor and dark playfulness (Paste). After sharing the stage with the likes of Bikini Kill, Viagra Boys, Amyl Angus Andrew in 2022 on an EP called Nothing You Do Matters. Anyone can play punk rock. For Ganser, thats no excuse for low standards. Over a pair of albums, including 2020s marvelous Just Look at That Sky, the Chicago quartet deployed simple phrasing to make increasingly complicated thematic and artistic statements. On Nothing You Do Matters, a short EP produced by Liars Angus Andrew, they offer up their most sophisticated music yet. Sadie Sartini Garner, Pitchfork

Plum Biography

Shona Maguire/Plum is a multi-talented songwriter and producer, creating touching, eclectic, and always emotive music. Undertaking work experience at Split-Level Studios from age 15-19, she was keen to learn studio engineering and recording. Frustrated by being unable to communicate her creative ideas exactly as she wanted, Plum undertook a Music Production course in London (2006). With time focused on production and composition, by completion of the course she had already been signed to American label Summer Rain Recordings, releasing "The Whispering Chamber" (2007) and "The Glory Feast" (2008). Upon returning to Scotland, Plum quickly established herself as a notable force in the Scottish electronic music scene and was snapped up by prestigious label Benbecula Records as the only female artist in their 11 year history, releasing critically acclaimed album Different Skin (2009). Following this, Plum had extensive airplay/interviews on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Scotland, and local radio stations, and toured the UK and Europe. Achievements: "One of 13 to watch for 2013" Best of British Unsigned "Best Electronic Artist" Best of British Unsigned Reviews: “Appeals to everything I love. It combines extravagant electronic beats which contrasts so exceptionally well with her elegant vocals” Glasgow Podcart "It's all so amazing! I love it! It's pretty and tough. Just the way I like things" Buck 65 “A really great, really interesting album – comparisons to The Knife and Nikki & the Dove. Her voice is great and I love all the intricate electronics going on in there” Ally McCrae, BBC Radio 1 "Strong songwriting, originality, personality and charm. The girls are back in town" sic Magazine "Best Electronic Act" - Scottish Alternative Music Awards 2013 Get free music at www.plumtunes.com/freemusic
