Attila The Stockbroker Presents ? The third of Attila?s Sunday afternoon matinee events, and for this one he has brought together his very favourite songwriter from the new generation and one of his all time pre-punk inspirations. Jess Silk is just brilliant: passionate, incisive, hard hitting words, soaring tunes, a powerful voice. At 26 she is developing a well-deserved reputation as one of the great new songwriters of our age, sharing the stage with the likes of The Levellers, Ferocious Dog, New Model Army and Billy Bragg. Richard Strange was the front man of the Doctors of Madness, one of Attila?s favourite bands of all time: Velvets meet Bowie meet Jean-Paul Sartre. He has written many great songs since that time. And Attila will be joining him on violin for a few of the old Doctors? songs: fitting because it was the incredible dynamics of their fiddler Urban Blitz which inspired his playing style. Attila will be doing new poems, older songs and a few readings from his autobiography ?Arguments Yard?, now reprinted for the second time.
