Jah Wobble Biography
Ex-Public Image Ltd. bass player (1978-80) who left the band on shaky terms when using the Metal Box (2nd Edition) backing tapes for his first solo release entitled "Betrayal" (1980). Afterwards, Wobble made a number of independent releases, first with the Human Condition (featuring ex-PiL drummer Walker) and soon collaborated with Jaki Liebezeit and Holger Czukay from Can and the Edge from U2. At the same time he released his own solo work. Further releases were supported by island records. Most recently Wobble realized his own label 30 Hertz and has toured the US. At the same time he mustered a shortlived PiL copy band called the The Damage Manual with ex-Killing Joke members and Martin Atkins (ex-PiL drummer). 30 Hertz and Martin Atkins' now-defunct Invisible Records realized PiL's original intent.
