Backed by The Pétropolitans a crack band of revolving musicians featuring the likes of Paul Pfleger (piano/keyboards), Ruth Tidmarsh (bass), Helen McCookerybook (backing vocals) and Ian Button (drums) Robert Rotifer will be playing tunes from his latest highly acclaimed long player ?Holding Hands In Pétropolis? (Gare du Nord, 2023). Mr Rotifer is well known for his descriptive pop lyrics and fine melodic sense so expect to hear top notch songwriting backed by a great band. Based in Canterbury this fine pop quartet have released 3 LP's on the very cool Gare du Nord record label. Pop music with rough edges and lyrics about girls, football, British TV, animals....in fact anything at all. Picturebox's last LP 'Escapes' (Gare du Nord, 2018) combined an unabashed enthusiasm for pop tunes and indie hits with Syd Barrett era psychedelia.
