Michael Davey

Having been accepted into the Elder Conservatorium of Music at 16, Michael has been fortunate enough to play in such concert halls as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall and the Concertgebouw. Since then he has developed a passion for instrumental teaching having completed a Master of Music in Performance Teaching from the University of Melbourne. Professionally he has performed with such ensembles as Orchestra Victoria, Australian International Opera Company and the Art of Sound Orchestra. As a viola player Michael has developed a keen interest in chamber music over his career having performed at the Townsville International Chamber Music Festival as well as the Mimir Chamber Music Festival in Melbourne and Fort Worth, Texas. To Michael, music performance and education should be centered on the notion of expressing oneself and life experiences through the story telling capacity of music.
