First time seeing them live. The crowd loved it but i would've preferred if the other openning acts had more time. The lead singer came off as a bit entitled. Spitting constantly all over the place, maybe he had an issue(?), and throwing or knocking over the mic stand after almost every song. I guess he likes the sound it makes? Idk, it was weird and someone literally had to constantly be at the ready to fix it. Idk he just came off like a jerk imo. Plus his voice was off putting to me but he can't help that

Learned that I'm not a fan of AFI. Band was great and the majority of the crowd loved it, but I couldn't get into the lead singer. Something about his voice was part of it, but that's just a matter of taste. The main thing was his constant spitting everywhere and dropping the mic stand after nearly every song, forcing someone to be at the ready to pick it up. He came across as a bit of a jerk. But maybe it was just a bad night, idk.

AFI sounded really good live. Knew some songs as I was never a huge fan of theirs but it was nostalgic to hear songs from sing the sorrow even though I would have liked to have heard the leaving song pt.2. I went for drab majesty (opener) and I enjoyed it but think they got gypped due to sound issues (guitar too low and reverb too high on keys).

About AFI

AFI are leaders, not followers. A collective in a perpetual state of creative evolution as fluid as the evocative figures contorting on the cover of Bodies, their newest collection of songs. The record is a snapshot of unrelenting artists in motion, unconcerned with compromise or outside demands.

The band initially summoned a steady subcultural groundswell in the mid-90s, devoid of careerist ambitions. The band first made music as teenaged misfits in an obscure Northern California town, steadily assembling a dense catalog over the years marked by its diversity and authenticity.

The platinum success of Sing the Sorrow blazed a path for a generation of hardcore-punk weaned bands to similarly crossover. 2006's Decemberunderground upended expectations again and earned AFI a second platinum plaque. Crash Love was another adventurous turn, with expansive and almost optimistic-sounding melodies, glistening with emotion. The haunting Burials arrived four years later, debuting in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. The self-titled follow-up, commonly referred to as "the Blood Album," became AFI's second-highest charting album since their inception, debuting at No. 5 in 2017.
