(NL) Funk, Jazz | Endlich: Der holländische Saxophon-Superstar Candy Dulfer kehrt nach fünf (!) ausverkauften Mühle-Shows 2021 und 2022 mit ihrer grossartigen Band in die Mühle Hunziken zurück!
Candy Dulfer hat sich ihren Platz in der Musikgeschichte mit ihrem für den Grammy nominierten Debütalbum «Saxuality», den weltweit über 2,5 Millionen verkauften Exemplaren ihrer Soloalben, sensationellen Auftritten mit den grössten Namen der Musikgeschichte, mehreren Nummer-1-Hits in den USA und ihren weltweiten Konzertouren und legendären Live-Shows wahrlich verdient.
Bekannt wurde sie durch ihre hochkarätigen Zusammenarbeiten mit Dave Stewart (dem weltweiten Nummer-1-Hit «Lily was here») und natürlich Prince (einschliesslich seines «Partyman»-Videos), der rekordverdächtigen Musicology Tour und ihrem Auftritt an den Grammy Awards mit Beyoncé. Candy hatte ausserdem das Glück, mit vielen weiteren Musiklegenden, darunter Van Morrison, Maceo Parker, Sheila E., Mavis Staples, Lionel Richie, Pink Floyd, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin und vielen anderen, sowohl im Studio wie auf der Bühne zusammenarbeiten zu können.
Trotz diesen tollen Zusammenarbeit konzentrierte sich Candy immer auf ihre Solokarriere und blieb ihrer Liebe zum Funk und Jazz und vor allem zu den Live-Auftritten treu. Sie führt so das Erbe ihres Vaters, des berühmten Saxophonisten Hans Dulfer, fort.
Seit 35 Jahren tourt sie praktisch ununterbrochen durch die Welt – ihre Liveauftrite sind unvergesslich und ihre Bands bestehen immer aus den besten Musikern der Welt. Zusammen mit ihrer Band wird sie der Mühle Hunziken mit erfrischenden Versionen von Candy-Klassikern sowie neuen Liedern einheizen – die «We Never Stop»-Tour wird laut, funky, «and full of life and love», wie Candy selbst sagt.

Candy Dulfer Biography
Candy Dulfer is a successful smooth jazz alto saxophonist from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Dulfer began her career at the age of 12 when she played in a band with Rosa King, an American expatriate living in The Netherlands. Soon Candy was fronting her own band, Funky Stuff, who were invited to backup Madonna for part of her European tour. She was brought to the limelight by Prince, who introduced her to the world through his video for Partyman. This appearance led to session work with Eurythmics guitarist and producer Dave Stewart, who gave Candy a credit on Lily Was Here, reaching number six in the UK and number one in the Dutch radio charts in 1990.
Candy Dulfer's debut album, Saxuality, was released later in 1990. With her funky alto sax stylings proving popular with fans of contemporary jazz at several recently launched smooth jazz radio stations in the United States, Saxuality was nominated for a Grammy and certified gold for worldwide sales in excess of half a million.
Dulfer was also the featured saxophonist in Van Morrison's A Night in San Francisco album made from live recordings at the Masonic Auditorium, San Francisco, California on December 18, 1993 and The Mystic Theater, Petaluma, California on December 12, 1993.
Dulfer is the daughter of tenor saxophonist Hans Dulfer, and they collaborated on a duet album. Strongly influenced by Sonny Rollins and David Sanborn, Candy has become an inspiration to other female instrumentalists, including guitarist Joyce Cooling and saxophonists Pamela Williams and Mindi Abair.
