Alert The Sky Biography

Alert the Sky is an aggressive hardcore/metal band from Murfreesboro, TN. They formed as a five-piece in September of 2005. For the most part, all the members met while attending college in Murfreesboro. When the band formed, it consisted of vocalist Eliot Clarke, guitarists Josh Hearing and Zach Bell, bassist Landon Wright, and drummer Peter Towle. This lineup continued through the recording of some demos with Jason Dietz (engineered Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza) and then the recording of their first EP, There Are Literally People Dying Out Here.

There Are Literally People Dying Out Here was engineered in Spring of 2006 by Aaron Eckermann and Blake Martin, of the band A Plea For Purging. It features a blend of metalcore, upbeat party grooves and displays the beginning of the band's favorites: big breakdowns, odd tempo/time changes, and the ability to not take themselves too seriously. The latter is showcased with then vocalist's alter-ego Papaw, who makes several appearances on the album.

By the time the first EP was released in August 2006, the band had become a four-piece with the removal of guitarist Zach Bell. The band refocused their direction and went right back into the studio to reveal it's newly updated identity. TOUCHDOWN! would be the result. This release would be a darker, heavier, and more chaotic effort. It was released December 2006.

May 2007 saw the departure of vocalist Eliot Clarke. The band spent the summer touring with fill-ins and promoting Touchdown!

In September 2007, the band welcomed new vocalist, and close friend, Devin Leach. His brand of more traditional hardcore vocals filled a void in the band that it had been longing to fill.

In June 2008, the band released it's most accomplished album yet, Burger King. Bassist Landon Wright soon left the band. He has been replaced by Lyle Paschal, former guitarist for A Plea For Purging.
