DI'AUL Biography
Ever since their inception in 2010, Milan’s Di'Aul have strived to write heavy, catchy music underlaid with subtle complexities. Founded by Lele Mella who met three other dudes, Jeremy Toma, MoMo Cinieri and Diego Bertoni, the band had a distinctive and fully-formed sound right from the start: a mix of '70s rock songwriting and '90s metal groove.
The name's borned from the idea of representing the group with a word of the local language which has similarities with the english word The Owl.
The Di'aul in 2010 recorded the first EP "GV 12.31” containing six tracks and then they begin a series of gigs opening to several better known italian metal band; in 2011 they started to record new material and in the same time they note an improvement during the live performances.
After the release of their second album “And then came the monsters”, Di'Aul signed to independent label This is Core records for the release of their 2015 full-length “Garden of Exile”, which received widespread critical acclaim by several magazine.
Some examples:
"Le atmosfere che “Garden Of Exile” richiama sono quelle da headbanging pesante, di quelli che ti sale il sangue al cervello perchè la tua testa è continuamente appesa all’ingiù." (Metal in Italy)
"...questi Di'Aul ci hanno rapito l'anima" (Hardsounds.it, su cui Garden of Exiles è stato disco del mese)
"L’auditeur se voit ainsi immerger dans une ambiance lourde, brute et râpeuse qui possède un certain charme froid et hypnotique." (Metal Chroniques.fr)
"“Garden of Exile”...è dannato, è selvaggio, è marcio, è in una sola parola: Sludge" (Firealive.it)
Di'Aul followed that record up with a slew of dates in Italy and in Europe, in particular in Prague,
Nowday Di'Aul signed with the italian doom label Argonauta records. with which they're going to publish the fourth album called “Nobody's Heaven”, in february 2018.
