This dynamic 8-piece band (including The Mystery Horns) are an upbeat rock,roll,twang and soul revue in the Jersey Shore Bar Band Tradition..
They perform an eclectic mix of classic rock, 60’s pop, alternative country and classic soul.
All delivered with energy, passion and authenticity…

THE BAND:

ERIC DUBIN (GUITAR AND VOCALS)

Eric is a singer/songwriter and guitarist originally based on Long Island. After years of playing, recording and touring both solo and with some of New York City's hottest alt/country and rock original bands, including The Lincolns, The Imperial Pints and Fagen, he stepped in front with his first solo release, 2005’s "Welcome to Mercytown", on Fillerup Records. His composition “Carry The World” was used as the theme for a Canadian television program in 2007. Eric has also played in several notable regional bands including The Mercury 49’s and The Kick just to name a few. A self-professed and life-long Springsteen fan, Eric came full circle with his Springsteen tribute “Gypsy Angel Row” formed in 2011. In 2014 Eric relocated to Palm Coast Florida and relaunched his band The Mercury 49’s which quickly became a Central Florida favorite.

Now back in New York Eric will be fronting The Whiskey Crows and performing an eclectic blend of classic rock, 60’s pop, alternative country and classic soul.

JOE FERRANTE (KEYBOARDS AND VOCALS)

When Joe is not rockin' with The Whiskey Crows, he also plays in a dance band called Nitework. Other gigs include dueling pianos, as well as Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen and Elvis tribute bands. A full-time musician, Joe is also a church music director, piano accompanist and adjunct faculty member at Nassau Community College, and an individual piano instructor teaching in-home and in-studio lessons. Joe and his wife Megan have four children, Thomas, Madeline, Max and little Colin.

MIKE BREIER (BASS AND VOCALS)

Bass playing has been part of Mike’s life since the age of 13. As a veteran of the Long Island music scene he has been holding down the low end in all kinds of bands including Classic Rock, Country and original music. His aim is to keep it in the pocket holding the band together with his best friend .. the drummer! Mike is thrilled to be playing with The Whiskey Crows focusing on upbeat, horn driven, fun
and in your face music.

RICH DASHNAW (GUITAR / VOCALS AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE)

Rich Dashnaw received his Bachelor of Science Degree, concentration in Theory and Composition, from The Westchester Conservatory/Mercy College in 1986. He studied Composition with Ruth Schonthal and Classical Guitar with James Lorusso and Dennis Cinelli. He also participated in Master Classes with Jorge Morel, Alice Artzt, and Paul O’Dette. He received his Master of Arts in Composition from Hunter College in January, 1988. There he studied Composition with Myron Fink, Counterpoint with Robert Fertitta, and Arranging/Film Scoring with Arthur Harris.
Rich has maintained an active performing career on both guitar and bass. He has played guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, and saxophone with show bands in the Catskills, jazz trios, big bands, blues bands, chamber groups, pit orchestras, club date groups, and for religious institutions since the age of 12. He also plays guitar for an Elvis cover band, and upright bass in a jazz trio. He leads his own jazz trio on guitar, and subs with many groups. He has also organized chamber concerts. Rich has been the upright bassist for the Westchester Symphonic Winds since 2015, with concerts at the Tarrytown Music Hall, many venues throughout NY, and July 4th concerts at Caramoor, in Katonah.


ANDREW RUBENSTEIN (DRUMS)

Over the course of his musical career, musician Andrew Rubenstein has written, produced, and played drums and percussion with bands up and down the east coast. From original punk-pop, disco, rock, and funk in Providence, RI, Burlington, VT, and Boston, MA, to covering deep tracks by musical greats such as Springsteen, Mellencamp, and Steely Dan in his current location on Long Island.
Taking formal drum lessons in his early teens, Andrew then branched out studying jazz, rock, and fusion, developing a versatile style to take on a variety of musical genres. His influences include John Bonham, Terry Bozzio, Elvin Jones, and Vinnie Colaiuta. Andrew now brings his solid foundation to The Whiskey Crows.

THE MYSTERY HORNS:

MIKE BARATELLI (Sax)

Mike has been playing the sax for over twenty years. An in demand musician in the New York metropolitan area, he has performed at venues including but not limited to Carnegie Hall, The Iridium NYC, Foxwoods Casinos and more. He is currently working as a saxophonist with Hank Lane Music. Mike has performed alongside artists such as Hip-Hop star Jim Jones, R&B singer Shirley Alston Reeves and Clyde McPhatter’s Drifters just to name a few. He now brings his high energy delivery to The Whiskey Crows killer live show.

JOSH SEIFERT (Trombone)

Josh has been a music teacher in the Westhampton Beach school district for over twenty years where he conducts the HS Symphonic Band, HS Pep Band, HS Pit Orchestra and teaches Middle School Instrumental Lessons. He also serves as a chair of the HS Hampton Music Educators Association Band and as an editor of the New York State School Music Association Manual. He is a graduate of Liverpool High School (NY) and The Crane School Of Music (SUNY Potsdam).

JOE BOARDMAN (Trumpet)

Playing professionally since 1979 Joe is a versatile performer playing in the Classical, Jazz, Broadway Musicals and Popular Music genres. Joe can be heard regularly at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport. He has performed in the majority of their musicals since 2010. Jazz performance credits include the Maynard Ferguson tribute “Give it One” , the Jazz Loft Big Band and the Swingtime Big Band. Joe is the principal trumpet player in the Sound Brass Quintet, which is a chamber music ensemble that has performed recitals at various Long Island venues. Joe has performed in bands backing Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists The Coasters and Darlene Love.
