The Buckinghams Biography
In 1967, five kids from the west side of Chicago had a huge hit on their hands with the recording of "Kind Of A Drag". Soon the pop song reached #1 on the charts and the group named after the famous fountain in Chicago's Grant Park were making appearances on the top TV shows like Ed Sullivan, American Bandstand, and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. While The Buckinghams never produced another #1 hit, their blend of good old fashioned rock-n-roll makes them an attraction to this day.
The Buckinghams have performed across the country to capacity crowds with other artists of similar stature like The Turtles, Tommy James and the Shondells, Gary Puckett and The Union Gap, along with The Grass Roots.
The Buckinghams sang the national anthem at Comiskey Park before game one of the American Baseball League playoffs in 2004.
