Mikeal Anthony Greto is a multi-instrumentalist who got his start as a songwriter at the age of fourteen but began playing drums 3 years prior. His toy drum set had heads you couldn’t replace so duct tape was often used to patch the holes he tapped into them. Once those drums were beyond repair, he purchased a new kit with money he saved up from his newspaper route. The guitar started shortly thereafter and as soon as he could put a few chord changes together, he was writing songs that helped him deal with his parents struggling relationship. “Music was my maker.” he adds.

His passionate music reflects issues ranging from love and loss to politics and greed and everything in between. His unmistakable voice invokes true emotion and by the age of 15, Mikeal played his first show as he describes “at one of those corner bars where your feet stick to the floor and the smell of stale beer and cigarettes follow you home”. He continued to write songs and play in various bands throughout High School and finally auditioned and got involved with a serious band by the age of 17. Swoon released their first full length album and began touring with shows 5 to 6 nights a week, ultimately releasing 3 albums and staying at it for almost a decade. After attempting a Manic name change and enlisting Christopher Miller on drums, creativity faded and Mikeal formed The Flood with Miller in 2005. The band, whose name was derived from the Peter Gabriel song, “Here Comes The Flood”, released their first album and began touring over the next 3 years highlighted by a show with Counting Crows in 2008. Mikeal and Miller then regrouped with Flood bassist/keyboardist Matt Tenaglia as The Silent Signals with a sonic shift that would lean the band towards a more Electro-Rock sound. The Silent Signals released their first full length album in 2011 and performed in support of the album at such venues as The Trocadero Theater, Milkboy and The Queen Theater as well as a spot at the Dewey Beach Music Conference in 2013.

In 2017, tragedy struck when Mikeal and his wife lost their first born son to brain cancer. Music was put on hold while he and his family tried to pick up the pieces until Mikeal’s lifelong friend and fellow musician, Michael Crist helped him find his musical voice once again. The 2 Mike’s formed The Brothers J.A.(Jay) in the hopes of healing through music and an EP entitled “The First Draft” was released in October of 2018. The Brother’s J.A. followed the release with shows at World Cafe Live, Burlap and Bean and Xfinity Live in Philadelphia.

Mikeal’s music has been heard on such major radio stations as Philadelphia’s 93.3 WMMR and Radio 104.5, Wilmington’s 93.7 WSTW as well as countless college and internet stations worldwide. After a short stint in the Atlanta music scene and spending most of his musical career writing and performing in bands that collectively produced more than 8 albums worth of material, Mikeal's solo career is further pushing the boundaries of his craft.
