About this concert
RIN MCARDLE - S/T ALBUM LAUNCH SUNDAY NOV 5 @ THE OLD BAR Rin McArdle is celebrating the release of her long-awaited debut self-titled album at her spiritual home of The Old Bar, with very special guests Zig Zag. Rin is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer, known for her staggering live performances, and a familiar face to all those who frequent The Old Bar.  Featuring the singles ‘Splinters’, ‘Something Blue’ (ft. Georgia Maq) and ‘Famous’, Rin’s debut album has had love from all corners: “McArdle shouldn’t be slept on, and if this album tells us anything, she’s destined for greatness” (NME), “channels the great Americana songwriting tradition… brutal and bruising, there’s both hurt and healing here” (The Guardian), “The album spans the emotional gamut from searing anger to tender vulnerability… tapping into a nineties aesthetic to bring to life its searching, therapeutic sound.” (Various Small Flames - UK), “introspective indie rock of the highest order.” (Rolling Stone Australia). Rin McArdle performed at Brunswick Music Festival with Sarah Mary Chadwick and Hannah McKittrick earlier this year, and has recently supported Romy Vager (RVG), Palm Springs, Al Matcott, Jacob Diamond and more.

Rin McArdle Biography

Having played extensively alongside respected international and Australian artists such as The Preatures, Half Moon Run and Ver Blue, Rin McArdle decamped from the coastal surrounds of Sydney’s eastern suburbs to head to Montreal seek out new experiences in the Great White North. Having recently played at Canadian Music Week in Toronto at the invitation of Indica Records, McArdle returns to Australia in support of her debut EP ‘Lefty Lou & The Hamley Street Blues.’ Recorded in Sydney and produced by Chris Collins of Tigertown, McArdle’s songs are the result of finding solace in songwriting during a time in which Rin experienced and overcame her struggle with addiction. Having been described by Powderfinger’s Ian Haug as being “immediately impressed with her authenticity, talent and honesty as a performer” and her single ‘Sirens’ having been played close to 200,000 times on Spotify and Soundcloud, the future is bright for the unique voice that is Rin McArdle. "A truly exciting emerging singer/songwriter." - The AU Review "A great debut EP for the up and coming singer songwriter." - Hhhappy.com "Her voice is striking." - John Watson Management "Soul-inspired, great voice." - The Brag "Powerful. Impressive." - AAA Backstage https://soundcloud.com/incrdle/sirens
