Escape to the 1920s silent movie era at the Orpheum theatre! Vancouver Civic Theatres is thrilled to present Silent Movie Mondays, an immersive experience that screens popular silent films accompanied by dramatic music played live on the historic Wurlitzer organ, the last theatre organ in Canada still performing in its original home. Comedians Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy became a duo in 1927 under the management of Hal Roach film studio, quickly rising to fame and still known today as one of the greatest comedy duos in film history. Two Tars, Second Hundred Years and Battle of the Century were some of the first short silent films they created as a comedy duo in 1927-1928 before transitioning to the talkies in the 1930s.
