Umphrey's McGee

To be honest, I bought tickets without knowing much about the band except that they are a jam band. They blew me away. Normally, a show at the Surf is not really long. They played for 3 hours. The light show was amazing. The best I have ever seen. The band plays flawlessly the entire show. They made it look easy. At first, I was really enjoying the lead guitarist because he was great. It looked like he was doing all the work, but the more I watched the very calm and subtle play from the lead singer, I realized how wrong I was. The whole band was amazing. I can't wait to see them again. Go see them!!

UM was FANTASTIC!!! We loved the venue, awesome crowd/fans, fun light shows, some of the best merch I've seen for the band also, we had a ton of fun and will go see them again next time they're in our city/town. All members of the band are legit talented musicians and Jake transforms into Hendrix or Page during the jams lol, thank you so much Umphrey's McGee for the 5 star concert!! We enjoyed it!!! Please, return to Knoxville again in the future or at least Nashville, you got many fans and supporters here.

Even though drummer, Kris, is out for the rest of the tour, these guys still amaze! Fantastic guest drummers and guitar player sitting in (he is a machine!!). The venue was one of my favorites and I will be back for sure....If UM comes to your area, and you don't go see them, you are missing out!

Loved seeing the band in a small space. They were having so much fun with Dwayne Trucks filling in on drums and playing off the crowd. Everyone had a fun time jamming with the band.

I will be walking on sunshine for weeks after seeing these guys live. They elevated the whole crowd. Absolutely killed it. Umphrey’s McGee play with passion, fun, and spontaneity. Unreal and almost otherworldly talent. It’s a genuine treat and a half to see them!

Ridiculously amazing!! I knew that these guys were super killer musicians, and had heard some live stuff long ago, but didn't know much else. My mind got blown, easily one of the best shows I've ever been to and the freaking guitar player was destroying the world. These guys are not of this world.

Fantastic show as always. Was my third Umphrey's Red Rocks weekend, and never disappoints. Still best light setup in the business, makes for a very intense, insanely technical performance. Will be back next year for sure.

Best performance I’ve seen from these guys, Maybe Someday was incredible, as well as Seasons and Ringo. However, the sound guy was having a pretty bad night it seemed, completely lost the overhead mics in the mix

they played a mix of the just released album. would of been better to hear more cover songs off the Zonkey album. all in all, they jammed out every end of each song. the end was fantastic. I should of left more battery to capture the ending. that's always the best of any show

These guys are the best kept secret on the concert circuit! They are so versatile and talented. Original tunes with great cover versions mixed in. You never know what they're going to come up with. High energy, great show! Best live band out there!!!

Everyone was up and dancing,singing,swaying and enjoying more than 3 hours of jam band frenzy. Breaking strings, switching guitars mid-jam and not missing a beat. John Bonham would be a fan of the percussion section. Amazing Light show. This was my first time seeing them but defintely not my last. I am 55 years old and glad to see guitar dominant music is hanging on with these guys. 24 hours later and still can't hear but with a smile.😎

Awesome show! Wasn't what they played, but how they played. Very metal-ish show. So much fun and energy. Don't miss UM whenever you have the chance to go see them live - they are as good as there is our there right now.

Way too loud. Too many of their "heavy Metal" type songs. Didn't do a lot of there really good tunes. Jammed way too long on most songs. But they are so freaking good it's hard to complain.

What a smoking show! These guys are so damn talented. I love how they keep each show lively with a cpl. nuggets of unexpected pure magic. I wish they came to Louisville for more frequently.

Love Stone Pony Sound Stage! Crowd was so fun. Great Event staff, food, liquor vendors, accommodations very professional. Lettuce and McGee were terrific! Perfect Summer night Down the Shore! Be back soon!

Umphrey's McGee was Hot in St. Pete Sunday NightLast night at Jannus Landing was a fine display of a Jam band that is in a groove, pun intended. UM came out early on this holiday sunday night and was hiting on all cylinders from begging to end of their two set plus encore, 2hour and 35 minutes of in your face jam!!!The show started at 6:30, an early time for a show to start, but it was sunday, and there was a very good crowd already in the courtyard for the opening band, The Heavy Pets. These guys are a south Florida Jam band that are starting to become more well known, they play all the big festivals around the country and are a very good band. They played for a good 45 minutes and got the crowd worked into a good sweat on this hot summer night in Florida, a little light rain at the begging of the set didn’t take away from the good time people were having.The sun was still out when UM hit the stage at 7:45 and the crowd was now getting close to capacity, and the show got off to a great start with Drink my Drank, and just kept going and going, it was a jam band utopia of building to creshendos, and funky song breaks, the crowd was definately having a great time.I have seen these guys around six times, and have grown to appreciate them more every time I see them, I don’t know most of their songs yet, but I do appreciate when thet throw in a great cover, and the rest of the crowd seems to like it too, so when they went into The Clash’s Rock The Casbah, the intensity of the place rose to the next level, and it was magical inside the courtyard. They finished the 70 minute set with slacker, which is no way to describe these Chicago kids, they definately know their craft.The heat from the Florida summer, along with a very large crowd of people, had everyone feeling spent after that great set of music, one guy next to us went down from dehydration or to much partying or both, he was back on his feet by the 2nd set. During the set break, we could get a little air and water to get ready for the next set of great jams.The second set was just a continuation of the jamming we got in the first set, with great flow from one song to the next, at one point in the set, firemen could be seen climbing the stairs of the building next door, and we thought maybe there was a problem and they were going to stop the show, and there would be a riot from the crowd for stopping this groove fest, but the only thing on fire was the band and they kept going for another 70 minute set.UM is known for throwing in cover songs throughout their sets, and towards the end of the 2nd set came the biggest crowd pleaser of the night, Rush’s Tom Sawyer. This is a great song for them to do, and they pulled it off beautifully, and the crowd really loved it, one girl next to me kept yelling “I don’t Believe It”. They ended the set with Miss Tinkle’s Overture, and just like that two sets of great jamming was over, and everyone had smiles on their faces.It wasn’t quite 11 yet, so we figured they would come back for an encore, and they did with another cover, Van Halen’s Running with the Devil. Jake Cinninger had been shredding his guitar all night, and now a chance to play an Eddie Van Halen song, but he seemed to play this one safe and not go for the big solo, a dissapointment but he had just given 2 hours and 20 minutes of pure guitar excellence, I wouldn’t complain that he played it safe on a EVH song. They ended the show with In the Kitchen, and everyone in the crowd was very happy, a nice way to end summer with a smokin hot show at Jannus Landing. Umphrey's always puts on a great show. They've def got the best lights out there and with such a talented bunch of guys who are never short of surprises, they def show you how much love they have for their music. A must see band if you love live music
