Rogue Traders are an electric, pop rock band formed in 2000 by James Ash and fellow original band member Steve Davis, both DJ’s and Producers hailing from the UK. In 2004 actress Natalie Bassingthwaighte joined the band on lead vocals, alongside Ash on keys, Tim Henwood on guitar and Cameron McGlinchey on drums.Throughout the decade, the group shot to fame achieving chart success both locally and internationally, releasing 7 top 20 hits on the ARIA Singles Chart, ‘One of My Kind’, ‘Voodoo Child’, ‘Way to Go!’, ‘Watching You’, ‘We’re Coming Home’, ‘Don’t You Wanna Feel’ and ‘I Never Liked You’. Their most successful single, ‘Voodoo Child’, peaked at number #3 on the UK Singles Chart, #4 in Australia, #7 in New Zealand and #15 on the Irish Singles Chart.In 2005 the band release their classic album, ‘Here Come the Drums’, which was certified 4 x platinum on the ARIA albums chart, in 2007 ‘Better in the Dark’ was released and certified platinum by ARIA. In 2009 Rogue’s went on to release their fourth critically acclaimed record ‘Night of the Living Drums’. Rogue Traders have sold over 1 million records worldwide and toured both nationally and internationally. The band have been nominated for 10 x ARIA Awards, 3 x MTV Awards, 1 x Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, 1 x Inside Film Award and 8 x APRA Awards. Winning APRA’s for ‘Way to Go’ and ‘In Love Again’ the ARIA for ‘One of a Kind’ MTV Award for ‘Voodoo Child’.Over the past few years, the group have taken a break from recording and touring, choosing to spend time on their solo careers and family. Natalie Bassingthwaighte released a solo album ‘1000 stars’ that went to straight #1 on the ARIA Chart and was certified gold. returned to television, as host of Network Ten’s highly successful talent show, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and then went on to become a judge on one of the countries most popular entertainment programs ‘The X Factor’. James, Tim and Cameron continued to focus heavily on music – writing, producing, recording and touring with a number of acclaimed Australian musicians over the years. All 4 members have never steered too far away from music.

Rogue Traders are a pop/rock/dance influenced act from Australia. They are made up of James Ash, Danny Spencer
Cameron McGlinchey and Natalie Bassingthwaighte. The group's original members (James Ash, Steve Davis) met in London in 1989. Before forming Rogue Traders, Ash and Davis worked together on many projects, most notably as dance act Union State.
In 2003 Rogue Traders (James Ash, Steve Davis) released their debut album We Know What You're Up To In Australia. Their first single "Give In To Me", was a minor Australian ARIAnet top 100 chart single. Their second single was a lot more successful. They remixed/covered INXS's "I Need You Tonight", renaming it "One Of My Kind", peaking at #10 in Australia. A third single, "Stay?", gave them another minor top 100 chart single. "Give In To Me" won them an ARIA for best dance track.
In Australia they returned in 2005, with their album Here Come The Drums, along with new band member Neighbours' Natalie Bassingthwaighte. The first single "Voodoo Child", reached number #4 in Australia, and #7 in New Zealand (their biggest hit yet) and made the band a household name. The second single from the album "Way to Go" reached #7 in Australia, and the third single from their album was "Watching You" which was their second single to reach the top 5, peaking at #5 in Australia.
"Here Come The Drums" reached #2 in Australia, going 4x Platinum. A further 2 singles were released from the album, "We're Coming Home" peaking at #16 and the radio only release "In Love Again".
After massive success in their native Australia the Rogue Traders set their sights on the United Kingdon. In July 2006 the band released Voodoo Child in the UK which resulted in a huge Number 3 Summer Chart Smash which is still played on UK radio nearly 2 years later, most notably on Radio 1 (one of the UK's top stations).
After repeating their huge success in the UK with Voodoo Child hopes were high for the 2nd UK single release Watching You. Unfortunately the track didnt do too well and only managed to limp into the Top 40 at Number 33. Due to bad promotion and choosing the wrong singles, when Way To Go! was released as Single Number 3 it faded without trace, even with a support slot on the Girls Aloud Arena Tour of Spring 2007.
With so much success in Australia it was always going to be a challenge following up such a successful album The bands 3rd album Better in the Dark was released at the end of 2007 in Australia. Lead Single Don't You Wanna Feel had a lot of initial promise but didnt match the success of Voodoo Child, despite the single and album being considered better by fans of the band. More singles have followed in Australia 2nd release I Never Liked You and another Single What You're On is planned to coincide with a huge tour of Australia.
