Deathwish (RI)

Deathwish is a metal band based out of Providence, Rhode Island. Started in 2008, members Andre Gomes (rhythm guitar), Chad Millis (lead guitar), Frankie Buono (drums) and Sam Okon (vocals) sought to write music with integrity and purpose. The band takes a barebones, bareknuckle approach to writing and focuses on unearthing the raw aggression that exists within music. At its core, Deathwish is a group of like-minded individuals devoted to creating something new in the world of metal while still staying true to the path laid down by the pioneers and legends who came before them. Deathwish released Dreams of Fortune, a 5-song EP, in June of 2012. The EP showcases Deathwish‘s technical ability as well as their flair for writing songs that are both heavy and uniquely memorable. The band has also worked hard to develop a live performance that emphasizes the power and technicality that characterizes their music. Between the years of 2014-2015, Deathwish acquired drummer Will Simonini and bassist Nick Elliot. The lineup change has given the band a fresh take on song writing and renewed energy in live performance. This is strongly reflected by their award for "Best Hardcore/Metal Act of the Year" in the 2016 Limelight Magazine Music Awards.
