Otis Shanty as the band approaches its fifth year, Otis Shanty has evolved into a hazy, whirring but dynamic four-piece that knows how to play to a room. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sadye Bobbette, guitarist Ryan DiLello, bassist Julian Snyder, and drummer Jono Quinn wrote the upcoming Early Birds EP in the bands sunroom in Somerville, Massachusetts. Sounds and lyrics on the record reflect the parallels and tensions between morning light and dying daylight hours, feeling close to someone and anticipating their departure, and where inspiration meets utter dejection. But a strain of optimism and warmth enlivens the melancholy of Early Birds, which is fitting for a band newly out of college, playing live nearly every weekend, and having fun. A partial follow-up to the bands first full-length album Suite 33, Early Birds sees a band once lost at sea find anchorage in the lineages of Kurt Vile, Courtney Barnett, Real Estate and Yo La Tengo for nowSurgeon General is a noisy indie band from VT, blending influences ranging from folk-rock to post-punk that yields a varied, distinct, and familiar sound. Weve been aptly described as kind of like if Wilco and Sonic Youth had a baby. The Constructors is a Brooklyn-based project formed in 2021, composed of Whitney Whitaker(Vocals), Alex Glass (Drums), Jon Lindgren (Bass), Marco Argenti (Guitar), Mike Pieck (Keys). We like to play pop classics from the 80s and 90s with our own vibe, mixing dreamy vocals with rocking guitars and heavy rhythmic grooves. Our name represents our belief for building a positive and fair world, and we dedicate our musical mission to supporting various charity projects. We love analog and record our songs straight to tape, the only medium that preserves the original character and soul of our music.
